Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 12:10PM I went to Australia Zoo a couple of weeks ago, hoping to get a good bunch of reference photos for some future drawings and paintings. I got a whole bunch of terrible photos instead, proving how much I still need to learn how to use my camera, but there were a few good ones in the mix at least!
A lot of the time the sun was peeking through the trees just at the right point to light up the gorgeous spiderwebs that were everwhere. I found myself looking up quite often to check for them. People looked at me strangely since I was more interested in the silvery threads strung through the air, than the kangaroos lying around at my feet.
I'm so used to the webs at my house that are most often conveniently placed at face height, since there's nothing quite like walking right through one, getting the web tangled in your eyelashes, and then wondering if that's the breeze tickling your hair, or 4 pairs of feet...
